This ARL-funded project demonstrated automated thermoplastic lamination using induction heating, enabling high-rate, automated composite manufacturing. The technology was successfully transitioned to ATK, the largest U.S. user of carbon prepreg, resulting in improved production efficiency and reduced labor costs for thermoplastic composite structures.
