Tailorable Universal Feedstock for Forming (TuFF)

Funding Agencies: U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE)

Partners: Composites Automation LLC, NASA, DARPA, Arkema Chemical

The TuFF process enables rapid forming of complex thermoplastic and thermoset composite geometries from aligned short-fiber feedstocks. Developed under multiple DoD and DOE programs, the technology has been licensed to Composites Automation LLC, co-located at CCM’s Applications and Technology Transfer Laboratory. It is being scaled for aerospace and defense manufacturing, with active collaborations supporting NASA and DARPA programs.
