The University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials (UD-CCM) is now accepting nominations for the John W. Gillespie, Jr. Distinguished Alumni Award.
The John W. Gillespie, Jr. Distinguished Alumni Award honors an alum of CCM who has made significant contributions to the field of composite materials through their service, education, research, and development activities. The recipient is selected based on the impact of their contributions on one or
more of these activities.
Each nomination must include:
- Name of Nominee, Affiliation and Email Address
- Nominated By and Email Address
- How has the nominee’s work made significant contributions to the field of composite materials through their service, education, research and development activities ?
- Describe specific innovations, breakthroughs, or leadership achievements that demonstrate the nominee’s lasting impact on the composites field. (200-400 words; include measurable outcomes or examples of influence.)
The medal will be awarded in conjunction with the center’s annual Achievement in Composite Excellence (ACE) awards ceremony on May 1, 2026. The award recipient will be invited to be the guest speaker at the 2026 ACE program.
