CCM Research Spotlight: Automotive & Ground Mobility

Jan 22, 2026

As part of our CCM Research Highlights series, today we’re featuring our work in automotive and ground mobility, advancing composite technologies that support U.S. manufacturing leadership, supply chain resilience, and next-generation transportation.

Research Highlights:

• High-rate manufacturing of thermoplastic and thermoset composites using out-of-autoclave processing to meet cost, performance, and cycle-time targets for high-volume production
• Advanced composite designs that meet federal safety and crashworthiness standards while enabling lightweight solutions for both electric and conventional vehicles

Why it matters:
From improving energy efficiency in transportation to extending the service life of critical infrastructure, CCM research continues to push the boundaries of what advanced composites can achieve.
